Another bad experience at Piggly Wiggly deli, this seems to occur every time that I try to buy meat here. The deli staff are terribly rude when I ask for my meat to be sliced thinly and placed on a paper. I feel that if I am going to be paying $8 a pound for my meat that it should not be an issue to choose the way that I want it. Deli manager was in there at the time and did not bother to tell the other employee to be polite or inform her that the customer is always right.
Meat overall is fresher and of better quality then others. You can get some very good sale prices on items, however you really have to pay attention when grabbing "sale item"as they conveniently put full price items next to sale items in the meat department. Check out staff are always friendly, depending on time of day you can have a bit of wait. They do have pull up to curb service which is very nice. Items that are not on sale tend to be a bit higher then other bigger stores, but it's nice to not have to travel extra miles to save a little.
Not impressed as of lately. The cashiers are not friendly at all. We have had issues with the deli department not wanting to slice meat at 6:30 pm, when the dept is open until 7 pm. Last night my husband and I went in there shopping, seen ribs that were $2 off ... well I opened the package to put in the crockpot today. The meat was rotten! I looked at the tag that was on it, it was suppose to be sold by the previous day!! What was it even doing on the shelf!! Customers don’t always have the time to look at dates, that’s the employees job to make sure they aren’t selling rotten food! The store has went downhill dramatically!! My family will be shopping at Walmart and e.t. Foods where we know they don’t sell rotten food!
